Super New Moon Jan. 21, 2023

January 21 is the Super New Moon at 1 degree in Aquarius. It is also the start of a period when all the planets go direct. Full speed ahead, in other words.  

Super New Moon in Aquarius

With a Super Moon, the Moon is closer to the Earth, so the energy has more impact on the energy on Earth. 1 degree, represents new beginnings. 

Aquarius is the sign of humanitarian, freedom, sovereignty, autonomy. Although the name suggests otherwise, it is an air sign. 

This Super New Moon gives us a small taste of what to expect when Pluto goes into Aquarius. This year 3 months, next year over 9 months and from December 2024 Pluto will remain in Aquarius for 20 years. That is when the transformation from earth energy to air energy is fully completed.  

Acceleration of Energy

Shortly after the Super Moon, on Jan. 22, Uranus starts to run directly (forward as viewed from Earth). Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius, thus boosting the energy of the Super Moon. 

At that time, all the planets run direct until early May. This does not happen very often. It is a momentum; an acceleration of energy. It gives you a chance to make a big growth spurt.
