New Moon in Libra | October 21, 2025
On October 21, there will be a New Moon in Libra. This will be accompanied by a T-square (area of tension) and a grand trine in water signs (emotional flow). Read what this means for you in terms of energy.
The New Moon contains initial energy. It is just visible and has the potential to grow. In Libra, the sign of balance, harmony, relationships, and justice, it focuses on partnerships and diplomacy.
T-Square Between New Moon, Chiron and Jupiter
The New Moon opposes Chiron in Aries and squares Jupiter in Cancer. Together they form a T-square, creating tension. Chiron represents the wounded healer and symbolizes your greatest pain, but also your greatest strength once you have dealt with that pain. In Aries, it concerns our collective wound around our identity, autonomy, and our true power.
The New Moon and Full Moon are cycles that work together. Letting go, renewing, growing, letting go, renewing, growing. It's a spiral, just like your life path. Last April, during the Full Moon in Libra, the Sun was conjunct Chiron in Aries and the Moon was in opposition. That was the moment to let go of what no longer served you, to break through blockages, to seek out resistance. That Full Moon helped us to transform our collective wound through honesty, integrity, and justice, bringing us more into harmony with our true selves. The effect of that has taken place. By letting go, space has been created for something new.
Now, during this New Moon, Chiron is going retrograde (moving backwards from Earth's perspective). This makes it more internally focused. A new beginning from within yourself. It is the next phase of growth in identity, assertiveness, and self-expression within your relationships. Respectful, honest, and harmonious. This is therefore the moment to set essential intentions for this and to launch an energetic campaign. Our book Your Beliefs describes how to do this.
Emotional, Intuitive, and Empathetic
The energy of Jupiter in Cancer adds emotion and puts it under a magnifying glass. Especially since Jupiter forms a grand trine with:
- Mercury and Mars conjunct in Scorpio – gives mental sharpness and the courage to tackle taboos
- North Lunar Node in Pisces en Saturnus in Vissen – groei naar volwassenheid in multidimensionaliteit
This grand trine is a harmonious configuration with flowing energy, in water signs, which represents emotional, intuitive, and empathetic qualities. Jupiter in Cancer views things from an emotional, familial, and nurturing perspective and amplifies what is needed to become visible so that you can make a fresh start.

Pluto Moving Direct Again After 5 Months of Retrograde
The long-term harmonious aspects between Pluto in Aquarius, Neptune in Aries and Uranus in Gemini remain in effect. Pluto has been moving direct again since October 13, bringing an end to a retrograde period of about 5 months. This means that Pluto's energy is now more externally focused. Pluto is still “out of bounds.” This means that Pluto is outside its normal zone, more than 23°27′ south of the celestial equator. This allows Pluto to express its transformative power in an unconventional, intense, or boundless way.
Neptune Returns to Pisces
Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Chiron are still retrograde. Uranus and Neptune are therefore moving backward and are at 0 degrees. Neptune will return to Pisces the day after this New Moon, on October 22. For those who feel that a haze or fog has lifted over the past year, it may temporarily return because Neptune Is at the Final Degree of Pisces. Just know that this is temporary. The past few months were a preview of what we can expect with Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Saturn has been back in Pisces since September 1, and now Neptune is following. At the end of January, Neptune will completely move into Aries. Saturn will follow in mid-February, and on February 20, 2026, they will be exactly conjunct.
When a generational planet is in the last degree of a sign, its energy intensifies. The planet completes what it started before moving on to a new sign to do its work there. And because Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, in this case it also signifies the end of an era. Neptune has an orbital period of approximately 165 years and has been in Pisces for about 14 years. The coming months will therefore be the very last completion of Neptune in its own sign of Pisces.
This position revolved around the theme: how have we dealt with our consciousness, intuition, and spiritual growth? This also involves insight and discernment into “what is real and what is not.” One of the students in our Personal and spiritual leadership training recently said: Everything I thought was a fairy tale turned out to be true, and everything I thought was true turned out to be a fairy tale. And that is exactly what Neptune in Pisces and the transition to Aries presents.
Radical Shifts
This configuration between Pluto, Neptune/Saturn, and Uranus brings about long-term transformations, such as radical shifts in thinking, communication, learning, autonomy, and society. The retrogrades of Neptune, Saturn, and Uranus add a layer of inner reflection, perfect for reviewing ideals and dreams, and what it takes to make them happen. Especially since Uranus' retrograde encourages inner innovation.
Harmony in Chaos
All in all, this New Moon is a powerful reset for relationships and balance, with the T-square forcing healing of wounds through emotional growth. The grand trine in water signs offers intuitive support for profound changes, while the outer planets stimulate collective and social innovation. Thematically, it revolves around harmony in chaos: confront vulnerabilities, embrace emotional flow, and focus on self-care in relationships. Use this energy to set intentions—it is potentially transformative but requires awareness to constructively channel the tension that the energy brings.
