New Moon with Solar Eclipse in Virgo | September 21, 2025
On September 21, there will be a New Moon with a partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo. It is at the critical degree and on the world axis. Consider what this means for you in terms of energy.
New Moon at Anaretic Degree Virgo
It is the second New Moon in Virgo. On August 23, we had the New Moon at 0 degrees of Virgo,, the initial degree, and this time it is a New Moon with a partial Solar Eclipse at 29 degrees, the critical degree.
Eclipses have an intense energy. They are turning points and cause you to take leaps forward. A Solar Eclipse marks the beginning of a long period. However, because it takes place at the critical degree of Virgo, there is a sense of urgency. Make decisions quickly, complete things rapidly, and change immediately before the energy moves into a new sign.
New Balance in Virgo Themes
In addition, the Solar Eclipse is near the South Lunar Node. The North Lunar Node is where we are collectively moving toward. It is positioned in Pisces. And the South Lunar Node is where we are moving away from; it is positioned in Virgo.
These placements encourage us to find a new balance between a practical, structured, and detailed approach, and going with the flow of life. Between being busy with daily concerns and making room for dreams and ideals. As a collective, we are moving more towards the mystical and spiritual, which also includes religion.
The energy therefore brings an urgency to deal with Virgo themes in a new way. Virgo is the analyst, service-oriented, with an eye for detail and a practical approach. It is associated with work, daily routines, and health.
Global Impact
29 degrees Virgo is one of the points that is seen as the world axis. 0 degrees Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn with a deviation of 2 degrees in either direction is the world axis. So 28 degrees Virgo to 2 degrees Libra falls within that. The New Moon and partial Solar Eclipse are on the world axis, as is the opposition it makes with Neptune at 0 degrees of Aries and Saturn at 28 degrees of Pisces. This means that we can see the effects of this energy on the world stage.
If you personally have planets at these degrees, i.e. between:
- 28 degrees Pisces and 2 degrees Aries
- 28 degrees Gemini and 2 degrees Cancer
- 28 degrees Virgo and 2 degrees Libra
- 28 degrees Sagittarius and 2 degrees Capricorn
then this Solar Eclipse and Neptune and Saturn will form a hard aspect with it. So either a conjunction, opposition, or square. The effect of this energy may be felt in a public setting.
This will not happen immediately on the day itself; the effects can last up to six months. But eclipses often involve lasting changes.
Urgency in Renewal
The opposition between the New Moon, Neptune, and Saturn adds extra urgency and tension to get started with the theme of Neptune and Saturn moving back and forth between the last degrees of Pisces and the first degrees of Aries. Neptune is ethereal and Saturn is material. Neptune is imagination and Saturn is realism. Neptune represents the bigger picture and Saturn its structuring. Where Neptune blurs boundaries, Saturn is all about setting them.
This combination of energy helps you to stand up for your ideals, realize your dreams, and take control of your life. To live your true, multidimensional essence in physical realityThe Virgo energy helps you to integrate concrete, practical, and goal-oriented ways of doing this into your daily life, your work, or your health.
This New Moon is therefore an excellent moment to set this in motion through essential intentions and an energetic campaign. How to do this is described in our book Your Beliefs.
Internal Support
The Sun, Moon, Neptune, and Saturn are not the only ones at the last or first degrees. Pluto is at 1 degree Aquarius, Uranus is at 1 degree Gemini. Together with the New Moon, they form a large triangle. They form a triangle in relation to each other, which in turn forms another triangle. This creates a flowing and supportive energy.
Pluto retrograde in Aquarius stands for profound transformation, especially in the areas of social renewal, technology, or collective progress. Uranus retrograde in Tweelingen brings sudden insights and innovative ideas, especially in communication and learning. The retrograde movements indicate inner reflection or a review of previous changes.
Because both Pluto and Uranus are in air signs, and the Sun and Moon will soon follow (Libra is also an air sign), this activates the shifts of air energy, such as non-physical information transfer and multidimensional reality. The urgency of the critical degree supports this and emphasizes a different way of dealing with earthly Virgo energy.
Stand Up For Yourself
In addition, Mars is at 29 degrees of Libra, also the critical degree. This is about decisiveness in relationships, diplomacy, and justice. Mars opposes Chiron retrograde in Aries. The theme of this is about our collective victim role in who we are, our autonomy, and standing up for it. And Mars squares Pluto.
These areas of tension can activate a bottom-up call for justice, demanding our rights, and standing up for what we believe in. Especially with Pluto's revolutionary and rebellious energy being “out of bounds” (more than 23°27′ south of the celestial equator). This allows Pluto to express its transformative power in an unconventional, intense, or boundless way.
So during this period, pay extra attention to how you channel and express your energy. You can use your power constructively to work on your transformation in a focused way, but there is a fine line when it comes to doing things you may regret later. Make sure you stay in your own energy, in your focus point, so that you can oversee and direct the energy from there. The energetic exercises, from the book Your Being help you do this.
