Why You Keep Doing the Same Thing, Even When You Know It’s Not Good for You

You already know it. And yet, it's happening again. You feel that something is wrong. You've seen it and named it before. And yet, you say yes again when you want to say no. You stay in something that drains you. Or you fall back into behavior you know isn't getting you anywhere. That moment when knowing and doing are at odds is often frustrating.

Repetition comes from your programming

Your system essentially holds ingrained patterns that determine how situations unfold. In behavior, how you react to stress, and where you seek safety. These patterns partly stem from your life plan and life lessons, but they also arise because you had to relate to your environment in a certain way. What was once necessary to cope can later become a pattern that keeps repeating itself.

The core often lies in safety and self-esteem.

For many people, it concerns the same themes: right to exist, safety, and self-worth. If something is triggered in those areas, you will arrange your life in a certain way. You will look for confirmation, certainty, control, and a sense of security outside yourself. Or you will adapt yourself to maintain connection.

Then that becomes your foundation. From that foundation, you continue to make choices that maintain that same structure. After all, sticking to the familiar feels safe. The unknown feels like a risk, even if it's better for you. Your behavior is a manifestation of this.

Why you can't just change that

You can't simply wish that layer away. This isn't just about a learned pattern but often about a recurring life lesson that manifests in different ways. What you *can* change is how it plays out.

If you continue to react out of tension, adaptation, or lack, it will keep repeating itself in a way that traps you. If you approach it differently, the outcome will change. The core of the lesson remains, but the way it unfolds in your life can indeed be changed. That's where growth lies.

Why change often fails

Many people try to make that change. They become aware and recognize their patterns. But the moment pressure arises, they fall back.

They want to, but that desire often lacks sufficient power to bring about a reprogramming throughout the entire system. If there are blockages, for example due to guilt, shame, or fear, they hinder your strength and your willpower is, as it were, paralyzed.

How to achieve lasting change

Change begins with restoring strength to your system, so you can better resist situations that normally pull you in. The more you resist, the more strength you regain.

But when blockages or tensions in your system leave you with insufficient energy for development, that is not always feasible. Then it may be necessary to intervene at the level where the control is stored. Where patterns are fixed, and where blockages and tensions hinder movement.

That is what healing is for: restoring and reprogramming those deeper layers, so that the control changes and the old loses its grip. Not to replace your own process, but because it is otherwise difficult to truly change that layer. To provide support, so that your own strength can work through your system again.

During the Personal and Spiritual Leadership training, you will undergo 23 healings to free yourself on these deeper levels. You will also gain insights and tools to actually implement the change. More about the training or its first part healing program Who Am I | Higher Self).

Healing: Free Yourself on a Deeper Level

With a healing you can free yourself from obstructive (behavioral) patterns, beliefs, and thoughts. It creates certain realizations in yourself, allowing you to look at situations with a different perspective and to see them differently. With this you clear the way for change.
