Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse | September 7, 2025
On Sunday, September 7, there will be a Full Moon with a lunar eclipse in Pisces. Jupiter, Mars, Venus, and Pluto are activated during this period. Consider what this means for you in terms of energy.
Full Moon September 2025
The Full Moon is a moment of completion and closure. It is a moment of reflection. It brings things to light, makes them visible, and gives you insight. Pisces is the most mystical sign. It represents inspiration, intuition, awareness, and spiritual growth. It is associated with dreams and fantasies, but also with illusions and disillusions, depending on the frequency in which you live it through.
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
The Lunar Eclipse activates the Lunar Node axis, which represents destiny, soul growth, and letting go of old patterns. The Lunar Nodes are points where the Moon crosses the Sun's orbit during eclipses. They are opposite each other on the Pisces-Virgo axis and will remain on this axis until mid-2026; eclipses during this period will mainly take place on this axis.
The North Lunar Node is where we are collectively moving towards. It is positioned in Pisces. And the South Lunar Node is where we are moving away from, positioned in Virgo. These placements encourage us to find a new balance between a practical, structured, and detailed approach, and going with the flow of life. Between being busy with daily concerns and making room for dreams and ideals. As a collective, we are moving more towards the mystical and spiritual, which also includes religion.
Turning Point and Leap Forward
Eclipses often have an intense energy. They are turning points and cause you to make leaps forward. A Lunar Eclipse is about closure, but this time the Moon is conjunct the North Lunar Node, so it is about closure in order to make a jump start.
This Full Moon with a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces near the North Lunar Node therefore represents not only an ending, but above all a significant leap towards the new. For example, by letting go of what no longer serves you, such as limiting beliefs, or because you suddenly see certain things clearly that were previously foggy, unclear, or hidden, such as how healthy you are in life. After all, Pisces is also about illusions and disillusions, and the Pisces-Virgo axis is about health and service orientation.
Harmonious Aspects with Jupiter
Jupiter in Cancer supports the energy of this lunar eclipse. Jupiter forms a trine with the Moon and a sextile with the Sun. Jupiter is seen as the planet of expansion, (self-)development, and consciousness. The planet amplifies whatever it touches and stimulates optimism, confidence, and opportunities. Cancer is about emotional security, your home, and care. It is therefore a good time to reflect on what you can let go of in order to feel safe and move confidently with your own flow of life.
Emotional Peak
The Moon rules Cancer, the sign where Jupiter is located. The Moon provides emotional intelligence, intense feelings, and the movement of the tides. The Full Moon is always a peak moment full of energy, and Jupiter amplifies this with its placement.
Pluto also contributes to this. Pluto, the planet of transformation, is “out of bounds” and forms a semi-square with the Moon. This can evoke deep and intense emotions. Feelings that were suppressed or hidden. It can come to the surface through manipulation or power relations, or hidden truths that come to light. Because Pluto is out of bounds, it can manifest in an unconventional, intense, or boundless way.
With Jupiter and Pluto in play, emotions can run high during this Full Moon. You can bottle them up, but the intention is to dispose of emotional baggage that does not serve you. The flowing water energy of Pisces can help you let it flow away and drain it off.
Jupiter also forms a square with Mars in Libra. Mars awakens the warrior in you. It helps you face the world with bravado and overcome your fears. Libra is about relationships, diplomacy, and justice. A square is an area of tension. This aspect can fuel tensions in partnerships or social dynamics, especially if Jupiter's optimism leads to naivety, overconfidence, or impulsiveness. It challenges you to be assertive without aggression and to find a balance between emotional growth (Cancer/Pisces) and relational harmony (Libra).
Venus in Leo can cause confusion here. Venus forms a quincunx with the Moon, which can cause chaos between your personal desires and emotional needs. It encourages you to think about what you attract externally and what offers you comfort, security, and safety internally. Do these two things match?
Retrogrades
In addition, all outer planets plus Chiron are going retrograde. So Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Chiron appear to be moving backward from Earth's perspective. When planets go retrograde, we feel the effects much more internally, psychologically, and emotionally. The retrograde motion indicates inner reflection or revisiting previous changes, beliefs, thought patterns, etc.
Since September 1, Saturn has been back in Pisces at the last degree, also known as the critical degree, where energy is intensified. This is Saturn's last period in Pisces, and the planet is finishing what it started before it completely moves into Aries to do its work there. Since Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, in this case it also signifies the end of an era.
Everything Is Changing in Terms of Energy
The long-term harmonious aspects between Pluto in Aquarius, Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries and Saturnus remain in effect. In short, this means that we can expect a major shift in our beliefs, way of thinking, and communication. About who we are, how society is structured, and your own role within it.
Impact On You
All in all, the energies surrounding this Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces are focused on making you reflect on (or confront) your beliefs and emotional baggage that are hindering your personal growth path toward who you truly are, that is, a multidimensional energy being.
This applies to everyone. However, the extent to which you are personally triggered depends on your own natal chart. To illustrate this, I will use myself as an example. This Full Moon at 15 degrees Pisces is opposite my Sun, Jupiter, and Moon, and the South Node is conjunct my Sun and Jupiter. In addition, Mars in Libra is exactly conjunct my Pluto. I also have a number of long-term transits. Pluto in Aquarius is opposite my Venus and Neptune, and Saturn are opposite my Mercury and Saturn in the last degrees of Virgo.
A lot of hard aspects. So then you know that more is triggered in you than in someone who doesn't have these aspects. And there's more to come. Because the New Moon and partial Solar Eclipse on September 21 is at 29 degrees of Virgo. And that is exactly conjunct my Saturn and Mercury.
So if you wonder in six months' time, what happened to her? Well, this is what happened. The energy of eclipses has an effect for about six months, actually until the new eclipse period in February/March 2026.

End and Preparation for a New Beginning
So, on September 7, there will be a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, and two weeks later, on September 21, a Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo. Both of these eclipses will occur in September, the ninth month. 2025 is also a 9 year. (And my birthday is on September 9). Like these eclipses and the positions of Saturn and Neptune, 9 symbolizes the end of a cycle and the preparation for a new beginning. Take advantage of it.
