ASTROLOGICAL UPDATE

New Moon in Libra

October 10, 2026

What are you devoting your time, money, attention, and energy to? And are you getting something in return that is truly valuable to you? The new moon in Libra on October 10 puts relationships, agreements, collaborations, and shared interests in a different light. Especially when giving, receiving, and influence are no longer in balance.

On October 10, 2026, the new moon will be at 17° Libra. Libra is about relationships, collaboration, equality, and the way we interact with each other. Therefore, this new moon may represent a new start in how you relate to others.

Venus, the ruler of Libra, stands in Scorpio and forms the center of several important tension fields. Because of this, this new moon also deals with values, self-worth, money, possessions, shared resources, and everything where interests are intertwined. Scorpio also brings up themes such as trust, dependence, control, secrets, and what prefers to remain hidden beneath the surface. What at first glance seems balanced may therefore have a completely different underlying layer.

01

Harmony is not always the same as equality

The scales of justice naturally seek harmony. You listen to the other person, take into account different interests, and try to find a solution that both parties can live with. That is valuable, until maintaining harmony becomes more important than what is really happening.

This new moon can make it visible where you place too much emphasis on the other person, take on responsibilities that are not yours, or agree to agreements that no longer feel right for you. Conversely, it can also make it clear where you primarily act based on your own desires and do not sufficiently take the other person into account.

This applies not only to love relationships; it can also play out within friendships, family, work, business collaborations, or other partnerships. The question is very concrete: is what we have built together truly in balance?

02

Venus, Mars and Pluto reveal where interests clash

Venus in Scorpio makes a square with Mars in Leo and with Pluto in Aquarius. Together, these form a T-shaped triangle. This makes questions about value, money, loyalty, possession, desire, and shared interests much more explicit. Venus in Scorpio wants to know what is truly based on something and what is emotionally, financially, or practically attached to it. Mars in Leo acts based on personal will and desire, while Pluto in Aquarius can reveal power relations within groups and systems.

That can manifest itself in a relational way, but also financially or professionally. A discussion about money, for example, can involve who determines what is spent. Within a team, disagreement over a plan can reveal who really has influence. A legacy, joint account, investment, or business collaboration can raise questions about trust, control, and risk. It can also become clearer on a personal level where you continue to invest your money, time, or energy in something that no longer corresponds to what you truly value.

Because these planets are all in a fixed sign, there is a tendency to hold on to your opinions, beliefs, or certainties, which can lead to tensions rising. It is advisable to first investigate what is really at stake.

03

Old structures and new opportunities are tested against what truly matters.

Venus also forms a Yod with Saturn in Aries and Uranus in Gemini. This brings together existing responsibilities and new opportunities under one central question: what is my true value?

Saturn can bring old agreements, obligations, and boundaries back into focus. Uranus brings new information, other ideas, and a need for more freedom. Venus in Scorpio then examines what that means for trust, financial or emotional security, shared interests, and the extent to which you still want to be connected to something.

That can be made very concrete. You can re-examine a financial agreement, collaboration, investment, or shared responsibility. A new opportunity can be attractive, but it can also raise questions about risk and trust. Or you may find that something provides you with certainty, while at the same time you have become too dependent on it. The question is what form fits what you now consider important.

Because all the outer planets plus Cheiron are retrograde go (from the perspective of the Earth backwards), the effects are more internal, psychological and emotional. What has been developing in the past few months is now being internalised, processed and rearranged. This is also why you can approach things differently than a few months ago.

04

Cheiron and the lunar nodes: staying connected to yourself

Cheiron also plays an important role during this new moon. Cheiron is retrograde at the end of Ram and forms harmonious aspects with the lunar nodes. As a result, the relational theme of this new moon also touches on the long-term development of the moon knots on the Waterman–Leo axis: how do you stay yourself while being part of relationships, groups and collaborations?

Cheiron in Ram adds something vulnerable to this: can you take on a position of your own without making yourself smaller, but also without having to do everything alone?

It is precisely in contact with others that it becomes clear where there is still a problem. Setting a boundary, telling what you really want, or taking up space can go further than the situation itself explains.

05

Jupiter shows what can grow

The sun and the moon form a sextile with Jupiter in Leo. That gives room to further develop relationships, collaborations, and plans when there is sufficient basis for it.

Jupiter in Leo Jupiter in Leo wants there to be life, warmth, and personal involvement. For example, a collaboration can gain new opportunities when roles are redistributed. A relationship can deepen as what was previously avoided is finally expressed. A new relationship can also arise in which you are more clear from the beginning about what is important to you.

06

What can you notice about this new moon?

Around this new moon, issues related to money, cooperation, ownership, mutual dependence, and relational themes may come to the fore. The common thread remains the same: what do you share with each other, emotionally, practically, or financially, and is the way in which that is shared still appropriate?

A few examples to clarify. Perhaps you notice that you want to renegotiate a joint financial agreement, or an investment turns out to have different risks than you thought, or you notice that you hold on to something in particular because of certainty. At work, it may become clear that responsibilities or influence are unevenly distributed. You may also become more clear about where your time, attention, and energy go, and whether that still corresponds to what you truly value.

In relationships, for example, you may notice that you don’t share certain worries, doubts, or desires with your partner because you don’t feel like responding. Or that one of you wants more time for themselves, friends, or their own plans, while the other experiences that as distance.

07

The essence of this new Moon in Libra

This new Moon in Libra is about balance, but Venus in Scorpio makes it clear that this involves much more than just good relationships. Money, power, value, dependence, loyalty, and shared interests also determine how equal a situation really is.

The T-angle with Mars and Pluto can reveal where interests have become stuck or where someone has gained too much influence. The Yod with Saturn and Uranus calls for reevaluating old structures and new possibilities in light of what truly matters. Cheiron and the lunar nodes touch on the place you take on within the whole, while Jupiter shows where more honesty and clarity can actually create new space.
