New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Aries | March 29, 2025
On March 29, the New Moon will be in Aries with a partial solar eclipse. The following day, Neptune will cause a major shift in energy by entering Aries while conjunct Mercury, Venus and the North Lunar Node. Saturn and Pluto are also activated during this period. New Moon and Solar Eclipse
A New Moon represents a new beginning. Since it is a Super Moon, the Moon is closer to the Earth, making it feel more powerful and intense. Eclipses also have an intense energy, they are turning points and make you take leaps. A solar eclipse marks the beginning of a long period.
However, this solar eclipse is the last of the cycle of eclipses with the lunar nodes on the Aries-Libra axis, which we have been working with since April 2023. These have shifted to the Pisces-Virgo axis. This makes this solar eclipse in Aries both the completion of a chapter and a new beginning.
On March 20, it was the Aries equinox, which marks the beginning of the astrological year. This is during eclipse season, so between the lunar eclipse in Virgo and this partial solar eclipse in Aries. This also reinforces the New Moon in Aries and the feeling of a new beginning.
Neptune Moves Into Aries
Whereas the North Lunar Node has shifted from Aries to Pisces, the generational planet Neptune will shift from Pisces to Aries on March 30, the day after the New Moon. Neptune is a generational planet that takes approximately 165 years to orbit the Sun and spends almost 14 years in a sign. The shift of this planet therefore means a major shift in energy.
Shift In Energy
Aries is associated with willpower, focus and courage. It is action-oriented and has the energy to tackle something. So where Pisces represents the 'I believe', being more spiritual, creative, dreamy, imaginative and having a vivid imagination, Aries is much more about doing, proactively realizing goals and wishes. It stands for the 'I am'.
Set Boundaries and Stand Up for What You Believe In
Neptune in Pisces helped us develop our spiritual nature and contributed to our awakening. The North Lunar Node takes over this baton, so that Neptune in Aries can help us stand up for our ideals, realize our dreams and take the lead in our lives. Especially in combination with Saturn, which at the end of May also moves from Pisces into Aries and provides the necessary sense of reality and helps us to give structure to our ideals, goals and dreams.
Reflect and Reevaluate
In addition, Mercury and Venus are conjunct Neptune and the North Lunar Node. Mercury and Venus are both retrograde. They help us reflect on our beliefs, values and relationships so that we can reevaluate them from our new perspective. The energy of Pluto in Aquarius sextile to all these planets reinforces the transformation to authenticity and autonomy.

The last time Neptune was in Aries, there was the American Civil War. Pluto was not in Aquarius back then, but it is now. The past shows that this too is accompanied by revolutions, such as the American Revolution, the French Revolution and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. All in all, there is a huge energy shift towards freedom, autonomy and standing up for your own ideals, values and rights.
